Sheffield replied to the topic Re:Application for Chris in the forums.
I hope it's ok for me to reply to my own application, but I need to update some info for the you guys. Since I wasn't able to logon to Landroval to create at least one character last night.

I spent alot of time last night reading up on kinships on Landroval because I wanted to start off on the right foot with some really great people. Luckily, I stumbled upon the SoN forum post on Lotro.com! After reading the posts there and looking at some info here on this site, I feel that you guys seem like a great group!

My presumptions were assured after having a quick chat with Benjimir and some other SoN Kinmates in-game. Wow what an awesome group of people you all seem to be! I'm a little bit older and more mature gamer who is looking for a casual and welcoming group and it seems like I found it.

Finally, I just wanted to say that I created a character named Branadir so if anyone would like to speak with me in-game please feel free to send me a tell. Looking forward to meeting you all in the future and thanks again to Benjimir, Ragrin and all the others I was pestering today for being so cool!

ajarnold942 created a new topic Lore-Master Skirmish Soldier and Pet in the forums.
Now that all my skirmish points got refunded I can start over. I was wondering what other fellow Lore-Masters found sucessful in Skirmishes. I previously rolled with a Protector and it seemed to work well but as I leveled it had a had a hard time holding threat. So I was thinking a Bannerguard or Herbalist might be good but I can't decide. I'm level 56 now so I'm wondering what is the recommended Soldier for a LM. Also what pet has been most effective. In moria my eagle has been the best but I know it's all situational and I just got my big cat trying to find what It's good for.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Avrille

Andile created a new topic Black screen after character selection - DirectX in the forums.
This started since the servers came back with the new patched client. The game loads up normally, I select my character and "Enter Middle Earth". I can still see the ingame mouse cursor but that is it. The rest of the screen is black.

I know that I am in game because if I waved my cursor enough, I can get the "hover over npc" cursor to appear too (that one with the small dialogue balloon and quotes).

I visited the lotro website and found some advice saying that switching down from Dx10 to Dx9 at the login screen (under options>graphics) will fix it. And it did.

However, why should I have to revert to Dx9 when nothing has changed in my computer? I did notice during the patching, last night, that an update labbed "blahblah Dx9 blahblah Redistributable" was being installed. I found that to be curious but didn't think it would matter. It did, me thinks.

Anyone having similar experience? I'm running Vista btw.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought it was possible to create a clean-shaven dwarf.

Unless the barber has changed in recent history, you can create a moustache-less Dwarf, but not a beardless one. Aren't you all glad you know this now?

Well, I was in Bree, just browsing the AH at the time, when one of your kinsmen, Benjimir, was advertising. I had a nice conversation with him, and he directed me to your home page here. I've been looking for a decent RP kinship for a while now, and this one looks quite impressive. If you guys feel kind enough to accept me, I feel like I could contribute a good deal to the RP aspects of the kinship, and also give me a community in which I am involved and respected.

Back to the corndog. Bottom line is that no toppings othet than something that can stick to the sides fo the deliciously fried exterior should be used. Basically that means Mustard (preferable) or in a pinch (ketchup), but whoever thinks mayoinaise or any other sauce is ok is high on crack, a wimp, a deranged sociopath, ect. (get the picture) Onions, craut, peppers are pointless to the exterior of that fried goodness. If you want a sweeter or spicer dog, you handle that when making the cornbread mix: don't try and add it later. Nuff' said.

I'm wondering what is the best way to get the goat for Moria. I've been questing my butt off and still am only 1/2 way with rep with the miners. I've done the dailies etc. I've recently read that you can get a goat from the Ale Association but I really don't want to start over again. Do any of you experienced players have any tips or helpful ideas for me to get the goat as quickly as possible. My feet are getting Tired from all the walking... I've gone from 52 to almost 56 in moria and still no goat and I see a lot of lower leveled individuals with mounts...so I must be missing something.

Thanks,
Avrille

Finally!!, I've been bugging you for weeks to apply!...glad to see you finally listened

For what its worth Hromgars experience with Fredoric would be the norm rather than the exception. He is always willing to help out anyone he runs in to, and also very eager to learn his class. I also think he is a great fit for this guild.

and who doesn't like to see more hobbits runnin around? lol

Cheers...

My good friend Harlequinn (in game and RL)is constantly talking about how great the
guild is, so I finally got off my lazy $%& and applied. I consider myself as being
new to the game still (even though I've been playing for almost a year) as there is
so much to do. I am excited at the chance to be a part of this great guild. I
consider myself to be a timid hobbit (in RL as well) and hope this is an opportunity
to break out of the proverbial shell. I look forward to answering any and all
questions
